Building on the success of the Raidho D4.1, our Raidho design team, has done the impossible, and made our D4.1 even better. Based on the success of our flagship, the TD 4.8, we have adapted the technologies used here to create the new TD 4.2. Carrying on the beautiful design, the TD 4.2 has moved on to the next level, introducing our acclaimed Tantalum-Diamond-drivers and the updated ribbon-tweeter continues the legacy as one of the best tweeters in the world.
By adding the Tantalum-coating to the already excellent Diamond-drivers, we have achieved a cone which is even stiffer. The cone is a 5-layer cone with even higher levels of inner damping. In combination with the upgraded magnet system with the new SD-cap, stronger magnets and better voice-coil, the TD 4.2 will give the qualities of the TD 4.8, but in a size that is a little more room friendly.
The tweeter also is upgraded with a more powerful magnet system, making it more sensitive, but with the same open and detailed sound that is a Raidho-trademark. The internals of the cabinet has also been improved, resulting in deeper frequency response and a sound that is more natural while providing a huge soundstage.
The crossover point is placed where both drivers have their lowest distortion point, and it makes the two drivers “meet” with a very soft slope. This makes it so the crossover point is inaudible. But once they have crossed, this slope grows very steeply ( it’s a fourth-order crossover ). This “steeped slope” technique means that both crossover types are the best one can use.
